Who I Am
About Me: Lisa Wiens, AMFT
Empowering Individuals to Tap into Their True Potential
Hello and welcome! I'm Lisa Wiens, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) on the journey towards full licensure. I am passionate about making others feel comfortable by bringing realness into my sessions. I know that if I am not my authentic self, why should I expect the people I see to be? It is through real conversation and vulnerability that I believe that we can change as human beings and allow that to ripple into the rest of our lives. I aim to provide a safe landing space for you to be your most true self so that we can move through the hardships together. My passion lies in guiding individuals towards self-discovery and helping them tap into their authentic selves.
With a background in special education and experience working with children of all ages, as well as adults- I have honed my skills in empathy and compassion, creating a nurturing and understanding space for everyone I work with. I am well versed in helping children through their struggles with ADHD, ADD, Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) and Other Health Impairments (OHI).
Outside of a therapy session, you’ll find me in the trees or at the beach. I love immersing myself into nature and finding new hikes to explore. Nature helps ground me and allows me to get out of my head and into my body. I recently got a new kitten ((I’ve always been a dog person)), Linus, that you may see from time to time on the screen if we’re on a telehealth session (he likes to think that he is secretly saving the world).
